Geneva–Neuchâtel University of Music – ARTeM Centre

Last February, composition students from HEM Geneva took over the Blackbox for a concert dedicated to acousmatic creation. Under the direction of Luis Noan, they presented stereo works diffused through a virtual acousmonium, exploring sound and space with great sensitivity.

Reworked especially for this evening at MIAM in ambisonic format, these pieces now unfold in a new dimension. They offer a striking immersive experience, inviting the audience to step into the very heart of the sound material and be enveloped by evolving sonic landscapes.

The Geneva–Neuchâtel University of Music (HEM) is a higher education institution dedicated to music, offering a demanding program that spans a wide musical spectrum, from early repertoires to contemporary creations, including improvisation and current musical practices.

Ryoji Pouget - Impair - 10757H

IImpair – 10757H is a contemplative piece marked by sharp frequency peaks and contrasts, evoking a confused birth between nobility and injustice. The composition was created instinctively, with its meaning gradually emerging throughout the process. Formerly a pianist and composer of hybrid music (rap, electronic, ambient), Ryoji is now in his first year of a Bachelor’s degree in composition for screen and explores sound design and the physical sensoriality of sound.

Christophe Baert-Yue – Tintement Corde Éclat & 240731_赤水21点


Tintement Corde Éclat combines rhythmic sequences that evolve into a three-voice counterpoint and eventually into a song. 240731_赤水21点 transforms a recorded landscape into a dreamlike memory of ancestral land, recorded on July 31, 2024, in the Chishui Nature Reserve (Guizhou, China), with contributions from Zhang Ling Ci and Léane Dreyer (sheng and guzheng). Born in 1999 into a Franco-Chinese family, Christophe composes instrumental and electroacoustic works as well as sound installations, exploring emotion, sharing, and ecological urgency.

Auriane Pouliquen – MacroMicmac


MacroMicmac is a three-part piece in which multiple sound materials evolve and transform, creating accumulation and a sense of grandeur that leads to an unexpected climax. A student at HEM and a graduate with a DEM in composition for screen from the Cannes Conservatory, Auriane has presented her first electroacoustic works, including Sound from Space and Clepsydre, at the Chalon-sur-Saône festival.

Noémie Szczur – Désinvolte


Désinvolte is a free and uncensored ouverture exploring the human condition with humor, sensitivity, and freedom. Inspired by the words of Hélène Nicolas, known as Babouillec, this piece is a musical testimony to the impact of language. A violinist, singer, and composer, Noémie combines interpretation and creation, blending music, text, and dance in a personal and contemporary style.
