Opening: Friday, 21 August 2026, from 6 pm LOMBRIFICATIONS explores the secret entanglements between earthworms and matter in the process of decomposition. Undulating in a continuous movement, largely hidden from our view, their naked, sinuous bodies nourish our imaginings of the depths below. Alizée Quinche creates a sensory installation that plunges visitors into the viscous matter of these slippery beings, which fascinate and repel in equal measure. Photographs, videos, textiles and soundscapes bring to the surface what we usually bury: excrement and residues metamorphose into fertile humus, enveloping the darkened exhibition space. Following a serpentine line that seems to have neither beginning nor end, we are absorbed, transformed, and then released once again to the rhythm of their work resonating in the half-light. The intimacy of the underground reveals itself as a sensitive and vibrant space, where a slow, mucous body-to-body encounter unfolds with the matter we repress.
